Experience the revolution of TCP 2.0

Organizations that transfer large amounts of data over Wide Area Networks (WANs) are not realizing the full bandwidth capacity they are paying for, due to limitations of standard TCP protocols. PIE has a revolutionary new solution to this problem.

TCP 2.0 is a server-side appliance that does not require hardware or software on the receiving end. It accelerates in one direction, from the sender's side out. TCP 2.0 can be placed on both ends if bi-directional acceleration is required.

Based on award-winning technology developed at the California Institute of Technology, TCP 2.0 technology solves the widespread problem of TCP inefficiency due to packet-loss and delay. In field deployments, the TCP 2.0 has demonstrated 32x improvement in throughput on T3 lines (45 Mbps).

Technology Benefits

  • Asymmetrical setup – no hardware or software on receiving end
  • Native TCP enhancement is fully standards-compliant
  • Robust, Layer 2 bridging device transparent to applications and network management systems
  • “Plug and play” – no software installation or kernel modifications required
  • Auto QoS keeps local latency low and maximizes simultaneous upload/download throughput
  • Supports all line speeds from 768k DSL/Cable to 1Gbps lines, and beyond
  • Exceptionally resilient to packet loss
  • Does not use compression – leaves data untouched
  • Fairly shares bandwidth with other WAN traffic and does not create firewall issues
  • SNMP compatible

TCP 2.0 is installed between router and LAN, and is available as a 1U Rack Mountable Server with
redundant wireline failover, or in High Availability (HA) configuration. TCP 2.0 is based on research that was originally developed at Caltech’s Networking Laboratory.
